SYDNEY, Australia, Dec 11, 2002 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- A unique new service which allows website owners to integrate their websites with their cellphones has been launched by innovative web host KangaWeb Technologies -- http://www.kangaweb.com.

KangaWeb's new SMS@Me service provides cellphone-enabled email addresses based on your own website name. No longer will users lose their identity by being forced to use an SMS service provider's name in their own cellphone email addresses.

Instead, they can use their own name, with obvious advantages for corporate consistency, simplicity and brand awareness.

The package includes an SMS Alerts feature and SpamBoxer anti-spam suite to head off junk mail.

KangaWeb spokesperson, Nicky Adams, described the new service as a first in the web hosting industry.

"We are the first web host, as far as we can determine, to offer websites which include cellphone-enabled email addresses based on a subscriber's website name," she said.

Website owners can add cellphone-enabled email addresses to their websites, so that an email sent to one of these addresses is delivered via SMS to the owner's cellphone.

"For instance, you can set up an address like 1555123456@you.com where 1555123456 is your cellphone number and your website is located at you.com," Ms Adams said.

"SMS@Me contrasts with other email-to-SMS services which require your email addresses to be based on the service provider's website address rather than your own."

"We expect businesses to have a strong preference for this because there is a perception that it is not professional to use another company's website address in your own business email addresses."

SMS Alerts is a service which complements SMS@Me.

"With SMS Alerts, you can ask to be notified via SMS when important messages arrive at your regular email addresses -- you decide which messages are important," Ms Adams said.

"For instance, you could use SMS Alerts to be notified by SMS the moment messages from boss@example.com are received or the instant an order arrives."

"Our SMS Alerts feature is a wonderful innovation because it gives our customers more freedom. They are not obliged to check their mail as often, since SMS Alerts will inform them if anything important occurs."

All web sites hosted with KangaWeb now come with an unlimited number of cellphone-enabled email addresses and access to SMS Alerts.
