Agiliti Teams With Compellent to Offer Low-Cost, Offsite ‘Data Replication’ Service

PAUL, MN - March 1, 2004 - Agiliti Inc., a leading IT services provider, today announced a new service, built upon Compellent's Storage Center™, a highly anticipated storage solution that was unveiled last week after two years of development. Beginning in June, Agiliti will provide the customers of Compellent's business partners the ability to replicate their critical data in near real-time from their own Compellent systems to a second Compellent system located and maintained at Agiliti's tier-one data center.

Storing data at a remote site has traditionally taken place with magnetic tape media. However, new disk backup technology is rapidly changing that picture, and the business demands of today's 24x7, always-on world require more companies to replicate their critical business data to servers at a remote site, which can be quickly or automatically brought online in case of a failure at the main site.

"This new service, coupled with existing Agiliti services, greatly enhances our high-availability options," said Scott DesBles, principal consultant and lead storage architect at Agiliti. He said customers will pay for the new service based on the amount of actual stored data. They can purchase it either alone or bundled with a high-speed WAN connection.
