London – Easynet, an international managed networks and web hosting company, has taken a further step to shape its organisation around its customers’ requirements, with the appointment of Denis Planat to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer.

Easynet has been investing in the people, processes and technology to help it differentiate itself by offering an exceptional customer experience.  This approach has seen the company experience strong growth, counting customers such as Ford Motor Company, Kia Motors, Calor, Tchibo and Kellogg Italia amongst its client base.

A graduate of the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Clermont-Ferrand, Denis held senior management roles at businesses including IBM and Vivendi, and in 1995 organised Siris, a joint venture between Vivendi and Unisource. In 2000, after five years of soaring growth to sales of over FRF 1 billion and 500 employees, he helped sell Siris to Deutsche Telekom, which wanted to establish its business in France.

Denis joined Easynet in 2000, to become the Managing Director of its French operations and later, Easynet’s Swiss operations. Since then he has expanded his remit, holding several board level positions, most recently as Chief Commercial Officer.

Denis said: “Our customers are at the heart of our business and shape everything we do. They drive every new solution we design, and influence our global ambitions. Chief Operating Officer is a new role for Easynet, and structures the company so that one person has responsibility for the entire customer experience, end-to-end. It’s a fantastic opportunity”.

David Rowe remains CEO of Easynet Group and continues to run the Easynet Executive board.
