Host Color added new software applications to web hosting plans and now customers can use two social tools such as Wiki
software and social networking CMS.
The Wiki tool is based on popular MediaWiki application which has
originally been created for Wikipedia. It allows site owners to develop
and manage online libraries or encyclopedia websites. The software is
powerful, scalable and a feature-rich wiki kind implementation. It uses
PHP to process and display information stored in MySQL database.
The other social tool is Pligg content management system. It is very
useful software with a growing popularity. It enables web entrepreneurs
to create any king of online bookmarking site, reference guides and
knowledge-sharing web communities.
Both applications are added to four of Host Color's five shared hosting plans
and to its PowerTools package. This is the company's in-house software tool which
allows customers to add different software applications to service with
one click in their hosting management control panel.
According to Host Color, there is a growing number of site owners who are keen to
build new or to turn their site into web 2.0 platforms and to make them
useful communities where users can communicate, bookmark and share good
content and valuable knowledge.
