National Award-Winning Educational Software Company to Expand Operations at Peak 10

November 27, 2007; 11:19 AM

TAMPA, Fla. -- Peak 10, the leading independent data center operator and managed services provider, will provide additional data center services to Electronic Learning Products, a national award-winning educational software company. Electronic Learning Products recently decided to expand its relationship with Peak 10 and has moved its entire ASP model to Peak 10’s world-class Tampa data center facility.

Electronic Learning Products, a nationally acclaimed educational software company, recently won the Wall Street Journal’s 2007 Technology Innovation Award for Software and an overall Honorable Mention among all technologies for its TUNEin™ to READING program.  TUNEin™ to READING is an intervention program for struggling readers in grades 3-12.  The company competed with more than 800 applicants and winners were selected by a panel of judges from technology companies, venture capital firms and academia.

“Peak 10 is an excellent technology partner and we rely on them to help provide our customers with access to our services around the clock,” said Carlo Franzblau, chief executive officer of Electronic Learning Products.  “Peak 10’s unparalleled services, availability, and around-the-clock customer support made them a perfect match for our hosting needs.”

The Electronic Learning Products program advances vocabulary, fluency and comprehension through the use of fun, interactive software with real-time pitch tracking. The software is scientifically-based and research-proven to improve reading by more than a grade level in just nine weeks, making it the fastest, most effective literacy software on the market today.   The newly-patented technology leverages the power of music to accelerate learning, providing a revolutionary alternative to textbooks and skill-and-drill exercises. Students don headsets with built-in microphones and as they sing, they “see” their voice on screen as a white pitch-tracking line. The software calculates the degree to which they are on pitch, providing real-time feedback through a score. Students sing again and again to beat their score, just like a video game. In the process, the repeated reading and singing improves their vocabulary, fluency and comprehension, three of the key skills recommended by the National Reading Panel.

“We are proud of our working relationship with Electronic Learning Products as they continue to revolutionize concepts to help increase the literacy rate in Florida and across the country,” said Debra Curtiss, Peak 10 Tampa vice president and general manager.  “Peak 10’s comprehensive services allow Electronic Learning Partners to produce reliable and novel products with uninterrupted access for its partners and customers.”

Peak 10’s data center services improve reliability, increase revenue growth, lower costs, and maximize internal resources for customers while keeping their valuable information technology assets close to the business.  The company combines its network of secure, high-tech data centers and portfolio of managed services with localized engineering and support to serve market-leading companies nationwide.  Peak 10 owns and operates twelve data centers in Cincinnati, Ohio; Nashville, Tenn.; Atlanta, Ga.; Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C.; Tampa and Jacksonville, Fla.; Louisville, Ky.; and Richmond, Va.
